The starting point is the parking lot at the lower station of the cable car Talstation Gosaukammbahn, near the lake Vorderer Gosausee. We ascend through forest terrain along the route Herrenweg about 3 km to the hut Gablonzer Hütte. Here it is possible to refresh, refill water, use toilets. We continue further up the meadow along the route A33 Salzalpensteig to a junction where there is an information board and signpost to the via ferrata. We reach the rock wall and continue on the via ferrata. We traverse continually upwards; the first technical sections C/D follow shortly. Then we have to climb two steel ladders, behind which is a longer walking section A/B that leads us to a 40-meter rope ladder, behind which comes another technical section in the form of climbing exposed sections C/D. The final ascent gradually decreases in difficulty from C to A/B. We reach the summit cross by walking terrain. With good visibility, we can admire the panorama of Dachstein, views of the lake Vorderer Gosausee. We descend via route 628, which leads us on a path along the southern slope. This is a classic descent route; sometimes we help ourselves with hands, sometimes it is necessary to make a longer step or sit and jump down. We return by this route to the information board where we turned off to the via ferrata and then go back the same way to the hut Gablonzer Hütte and the same forest path back to the parking lot.
Author’s recommendation
If the route needs to be shortened, it is possible to take the Gosaukammbahn cable car up and down again (operation 08:15 - 17:00)

Tips and suggestions
It can be combined with a short "lake via ferrata" Laserer alpin Klettersteig - C by the lake Vorderer GosauseeRoadbook
Via ferrata Intersport C/D
- It is a technical, strength-demanding and exposed via ferrata
- the via ferrata is well secured, the predominant difficulty level is C
- if needed, it is possible to descend from the via ferrata at about 4 places
- the panoramic ladder is the goal for most who come here, but if necessary, this section can be bypassed on a route with level C that only bypasses the ladder
