The watershed separates the waters of the Gürbe and Sense rivers and is also the starting point for the Gantrisch via ferrata, whose entry is reached after a short hike to Alp Obernünenen. Four ladders and over 400 iron rungs run through the northeast flank of Gantrisch, leading up to the summit. With a pure climbing time of about 1.5 hours, Gantrisch is a relatively short via ferrata, but the overhanging sections and steep middle part require considerable arm strength. From the summit, the panoramic view extends from Wetterhorn to Wildhorn, and deep down in a hollow, the Gantrischsee shines. For those seeking another airy adventure in the region, the Gantrisch rope park in Längeneybad is recommended. Well secured and instructed, everyone can choose the level at which they want to climb here. Via ferrata and rope park are difficult to combine in one day timewise, which is a good reason to stay longer. The region is definitely worth a weekend trip.
