The ferrata, dedicated to Carlo Alberto Banal, was recently redesigned and with the addition of a variant has become very attractive and exciting. The Ferrata delle Aquile is an unusual ferrata, as it starts downhill and finishes uphill. It can only be done counterclockwise. Along the route you can enjoy views over the Adige Valleys and Lakes, while at Rifugio La Roda you can enjoy a magnificent view towards the Brenta Dolomites.
Author’s recommendation
The ferrata is not suitable for beginners. Especially consider whether to take the variant with the ladders, as the last part after the ladders is quite tough. It is recommended to use ferrata gloves.

Roadbook
From Rifugio La Roda, on Cima Paganella at 2125 m, take the descending path no. 602: the Sentiero delle Aquile. You pass close to the antenna racks and then enter the dwarf pines. Soon you reach the Bell of Dreams and the natural rock arch called Tito's Arch. Continuing on, you reach a fork: either continue the Sentiero delle Aquile or descend via the ferrata. The first section of the ferrata is all downhill: you are within the Battisti gully. You pass the Pegore Cave, the Angel Traverse, the Golden Basin, the Terlago Ledge, and then arrive at the first suspension bridge. After crossing the bridge, you ascend to Dos de la Merenda. Here there are two options: 1. cross the other bridge as well or 2. avoid it and take the path. You are in the last section. Here you can choose to continue the old ferrata route or try the thrill of the new variant, the Eagle Flight. The variant consists of two long spiral ladders that are very exposed and anchored only at the top and bottom, so they are movable. The most challenging part of the variant is not this, but the last stretch before reaching the Eagle's Throne, the end of the ferrata. It is the most technical and also exposed part of the route. Once the ferrata is finished, return to the starting point via the path.
