The Edelweiß via ferrata, the Sommerwand via ferrata, and the Höllenrachen are the three short via ferrata highlights at the Franz Senn Hut. All 3 routes can be done in one morning. On the Edelweiß via ferrata – as the name suggests – you can especially admire many Edelweiß flowers up close. Please do not pick the protected flowers so others can also enjoy their beauty.
Author’s recommendation
Please do not pick the protected flowers. The route is possible in spring, summer, and autumn. The Franz Senn Hut is a base for hikers and mountaineers and especially for families, as the hut is reachable in about 1.5 hours from the Oberrissalm.

Roadbook
From the Franz Senn Hut we follow the path to the Rinnenspitze. At the bridge, continue along the trail tracks heading northwest. In a few minutes, reach the small path to the start. Via ferrata: Right at the beginning, it gets serious, the start is easy (A), then you follow a smooth wall with many holds and steps (B, C) up to a weakly pronounced summit. From here about 5 m up, then comes the traverse (B, stay below the steel cable). After the traverse you reach a ledge (A), at the end of the ledge it goes straight up again (B) and shortly after you reach the key section (C or D depending on arm strength). Slightly overhanging, 6 m up, then traverse out to the left (C). Now via the flatter exit (B), about 20 m up to the end of the via ferrata.
Descent: Return via the well-marked hiking trail leading to the Rinnensee back to the Franz Senn Hut. When you reach the small stream, there are two more cable-secured sections to negotiate; surefootedness is sufficient.
