Above the blue Mondsee in Salzburg, one of the longer via ferrata routes in the region has been located since 2009. The technically easy to climb route leads over the east ridge of the Drachenwand to the summit at 1060 m altitude. Nevertheless, good physical condition is required for the almost 600 meters of ascent to the cross. Those who manage this are rewarded with unique panoramic views over the lake as well as the Dachstein massif. After a summit break, the descent through the Drachenloch offers interesting views of the Mondsee.
