Tips and suggestions
Refreshments: Rifugio Col Rodella at the summit, Rifugio Valentini and Rifugio des Alpes on the descent
Roadbook
Approach: From the parking lot, we follow the gravel road towards Col Rodella/Rifugio Valentini. After just under half an hour, we reach the Forcella di Rodella and turn left towards Rifugio des Alpes. We reach the hut after another quarter of an hour and follow the road to the mountain station of the cable car, which is about 30 meters behind the hut. From there, we descend about 20 meters on the south slope and cross between avalanche slopes past a weather vane at an altitude of 1370m to the west until the start of the via ferrata.
Via Ferrata: The via ferrata is very well secured and, despite its short length, offers some exposed sections. However, there are iron steps in all exposed sections, making the via ferrata very beginner-friendly. The via ferrata ends directly at the summit of Col Rodella where the Rifugio Col Rodella is located.
Descent: From the summit, follow the sign to Rifugio des Alpes, then return the way you came.
