Approach: From the parking lot, take path no. 602, which leads southward into the forest. You cross a stream, pass the junction to path no. 602A, which leads down to Penia, and climb steeply via hairpin bends until you reach the hut "Baita Locia Contrin" (1736 m – 30 min from the parking lot). Now you cross a wide valley – the Val Contrin. Follow path no. 602, which runs for long stretches along the Contrin stream, past the paths leading to Colac, Passo San Nicolò, and Col Ombert. The Rifugio Contrin (2016 m, 1 hr 30 min from the parking lot) offers a stopover on the approach route. From Rifugio Contrin, follow the trail marker no. 607 along the forest road heading south-southeast, past the junctions of paths no. 606 and 610, which lead left up towards Passo Ombretta and to the Forcella della Marmolada notch. Route info: The via ferrata follows a logical line and leads over a section less steep than the rock wall above the cave. Technically, it does not pose special difficulties,
