Roadbook
The best way to start the time travel into the village's history is from the village square "Auf dem Römer." There are parking options there and in the surrounding local streets. If these are all occupied, it is also possible to park at the cemetery in the Dalsheim district on Gundersheimer Weg. From there, it is only about a 400 m walk to the village square "Auf dem Römer," where the Fleckenmauer time travel starts with the first video. From the Römer, go through Burggasse to the street "Am Obertor," where the first of the seven mighty defense towers of the route can be seen - the Obertor. Here you can also access the next audiovisual content. If the door to the Obertorturm is open, don’t miss the chance to climb up to explore the battlements and enjoy the view. The route now leads around the tower onto a small narrow path along the Fleckenmauer. But beware, another exciting episode of history may lurk here. Before reaching the next tower, the Northwest Tower, the time travel millions of years back takes place. At the Northwest Tower, the meadow path along the old cemetery grounds below the wall ends and turns right. The video station "Viticulture in Flörsheim-Dalsheim" brings you back to the present. On the unpaved service road, the path continues parallel to the wall to the next time travel station - the Jewish cemetery. Directly to the left of the gate of the Jewish cemetery, a small narrow path turns right; at the end of the path, there is a small step, then it continues left again in the former cemetery grounds. From here, there is once again a wonderful view over the gardens to the wall with many scaffold holes from the time of the wall’s construction. The path ends at the old school, and the route then turns right again onto the street "Am Untertor." The Untertor, with its large square Untertorturm, is unmistakable. Here the time travel lets a woman from long past days speak, who has exciting stories to tell. Turn into Zwerchgasse and take the second street on the right. Through Weedgasse and then right again at the end of the street, the route leads to Kirchgasse to today’s Evangelical church, then right again at the end of Kirchgasse. But attention, a mysterious little alley turns off immediately on the left. When passing through the alley, don’t miss the next station of the time travel. The small path leads onto Vordergasse. Across from it, the house – the oldest in the Dalsheim district, awaits the next time travel station. From the oldest house, it is only a few steps uphill on Vordergasse back to the starting point "Auf dem Römer." As the last time travel station before the Catholic church, the sounds of the silent organ, played by Jutta Zink, can be heard. The time travel ends here, but there is still much to discover and experience, such as the story of the Fräulein von Flersheim. Have fun in southern Rheinhessen.
