RECOARO LIBERTY PATH

Peaceful walk from the center of Recoaro towards the thermal complex, to breathe the ancient and suggestive air of Liberty. Recoaro has been known since the 18th century for its mineral waters with healing properties, when it became one of the most frequented thermal resorts in Italy and Europe.

The architectural and decorative style, with exuberant but strongly graceful decorations, is preferred over the neoclassical style. More than a style, Liberty became a taste. The dominant element is the curved and wavy lines, often defined by the expression coup de fouet (whiplash), inspired by the sinuous shapes of the plant world and combined with fantasy elements.

So, walking through the center of the spa town you can breathe the atmosphere of that lavish time, when the nobles used to "take the waters" by staying at the villes d’eau during the summer months.

After the dark years of the world wars, during which Recoaro anyway wrote important pages remembered in history books, the splendor returned during the economic boom period, so much so that the popular music event Cantagiro, for many years had the spa town as the final stage of its route.
