We stroll through the passage of Hamburger Hof and Poststrasse to the Mellin Passage, with elegant shops and display windows framed in dark wood. The Felix Jud bookstore is a paradise for browsing and leafing through. The Alster arcades repeatedly offer views of the Town Hall, St. Nikolai Tower, and modern buildings that come to life again with the old facades. Like the huge greenhouse at Bürgermeister Petersen Platz or the glass facade at Fleethof.
We walk past the excursion ship “Störtebeker” and the museum ship “Rickmer Rickmers” to Vorwerk and marvel at the giant soap bubbles of a Hamburg artist, whose bulges and bubbles make the now gray city shine in colorful hues.
