From Jardim Gulbenkian to Parque Eduardo VII
Willeasy
This walk, easy and accessible, is also suitable for people with reduced mobility and is particularly recommended on hot summer days.
The route winds through a charming and less known area of Lisbon and is designed for those who want to spend a day immersed in culture and nature.
The route, which passes the historic old building Palacete Mendonça, allows you to admire along the way the mix of style and culture of the city and to get to know two famous parks: the Jardim da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, also known as Jardim Gulbenkian, and Parque Eduardo VII.
Jardim Gulbenkian, a green oasis in the heart of Lisbon, is ideal for strolling and enjoying nature, as well as staying cool on hot days. It houses one of the most renowned museums: the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum.
Inside the park there are benches, fountains, and picnic areas and there is a path for those moving in wheelchairs. The itinerary covers about half of the park and, along the way, there is a bar where you can refresh yourself. The venue is fully accessible and also has restrooms equipped with changing tables and accessible for wheelchair users.
Parque Eduardo VII is one of the largest parks in the city: from the top of its hill, the view over Lisbon is splendid. Inside, there is the Estufa Fria, or cold greenhouse, one of the largest outdoor botanical gardens in Portugal. Created in 1930, it houses a huge variety of plants from all over the world.
