Roadbook
From Tulcea, we will take the ferry to Sfantu Gheorghe, which takes around 4-5 hours, during which we can admire the beauties of Delta's oldest channel.
There are not many options for accommodation in Sfantu Gheorghe. Green Village is a resort that also has an affordable camping area, which is home to a famous one-week film festival. Another option would be living in the houses of local fishermen who also provide fresh fish meals every day.
In Sfantu Gheorghe we will find a beautiful beach that is mostly unpopulated. From here, it is extremely visible the way the Danube is flowing into the Black Sea and it is a breath-taking view.
We will find only one little bar at the entrance of the beach, so it is advisable to bring your own food in case you want to spend more time there.
The village is not modern at all, it actually keeps very many ancient customs, but this is where its beauty stands - the streets are rarely paved, and the "taxis" consist of a cart being attached to a tractor.
There is a high variety of guided boat trips organized by locals, from bird watching to the exploration of nearby attractions.
