Discovering the characteristic alleys of Bari Vecchia.
The route develops in the old part of Bari: a place where time seems to have stopped. Alleys and narrow streets intertwine and chase each other without stop, hiding some of the most important treasures of the city. After passing the Church of Santa Maria del Buon Consiglio, whose ruins date back to the Middle Ages, you arrive in front of the Basilica of San Nicola, an expression of Apulian Romanesque style. Continuing the route you arrive at Largo Albicocca, which was once in a state of decay, but today is considered one of the most characteristic places of Bari Vecchia. From here, proceed towards the Norman-Swabian Castle dating back to the 13th century and finally towards Bari’s most famous street: Strada Arco Basso, the famous street of the Orecchiette.
The route is free of steps and has regular paving, therefore accessible to everyone.
