A scenic, multi terrain 4-mile circular route with gentle undulation taking in the Western Yar Estuary.
This largely flat route follows the old railway line from Yarmouth to Freshwater along the eastern edge of the River Yar, before crossing a picturesque bridge, to follow public footpaths back along the western edge of the river, finally crossing the famous swing bridge and back to the start.

Roadbook
- Start at River Road car park and head south along the riverbank.
- Follow the riverside cycle path south then turn right over the Causeway Bridge across the River Yar.
- Continue along the road before taking the public footpath F1 (The Freshwater Way) between All Saint’s Church and The Red Lion pub.
- Follow the public footpath F1 (The Freshwater Way) across the field then bear right along the road heading north.
- Where the road splits, turn left and continue along the public footpath F1 (The Freshwater Way)
- Continue north along the footpath F1 (The Freshwater Way) through the fields and woods.
- At the end of the woods, turn left and continue along Gas Works Lane.
- Turn right at the end of Gas Works Lane and head along the pavement, across the bridge and back into Yarmouth.
- Follow the road to the right at the roundabout and return to the River Road car park.
