From the parking lot towards “Trins, St. Magdalena.” A forest road leads almost flat for about 1.5 km through the forest. Shortly before the start of the alpine meadows, another forest road branches off to the right (direction Truna Waterfalls). After another kilometer, again slightly left, after 800 m the path narrows to a trail, shortly before the waterfalls. 100 m after crossing the Truna stream, sharply right, then steeply uphill to a wide forest road, from there easily to the Truna Hut. From there follow the signposts to the Truna Alm and the Truna Pass.
From the Truna Pass towards the Mutten Pass westwards, after 500 m the trail can be taken to the right to visit the Röthenspitze (2481 m). A detour to the Muttenkopf (2638 m) is possible directly from the Mutten Pass. From the Mutten Pass the route goes steeply downhill on a technical trail northwards into the Wildgrube. From the Martair Alm the path more or less follows the Martairbach. Shortly after the hunter’s hut Kaserle at 1530 m, the right path to the St. Magdalena snack station can be chosen. There the trail runner can appropriately recover. The way back to the starting point takes less than 30 min, signposts to Gschnitz must be observed, the fastest way leads on the orographically right side of the Martairbach first gently descending and then at 1320 m running half left steeply downhill to Gschnitz.
