Transalpine Run 2011 - Stage 1

We start at the NTC Center (trail running shop) directly at the Nebelhorn cable car heading south, passing the mini-golf course initially on gravel to the Lorettokapelle. Through the meadows towards Renksteg, there we cross the Stillach and begin the ascent to Freibergsee. After the ski flying hill, the route goes briefly downhill but soon climbs again. A good section past the Berggasthof Laiter (place to stop) offers a beautiful trail into Warmatsgund. Now we have some work ahead until the Fiderepasshütte, but the view at the top makes up for the effort.

The TAR stage led over the Hintere Wildenalpe, but those who wish can also start the downhill directly at the Vordere Wildenalpe. At the Innere Wiesalpe, it is advisable to replenish your drink supply. The upcoming ascent can get really hot in summer. Just below the Innere Kuhgehrenalpe, the crossing begins before finally descending into the Kleinwalsertal.

Arriving in Hirschegg, we can relax and take the bus back to Oberstdorf.
