TeufelsmĂŒhlenritt!
This trail combines the best single-trail sections around the TeufelsmĂŒhle. The approximately 800 meters of elevation gain are not extreme, but the trail demands your constant and full concentration!

The first few kilometers start off relaxed from Bad Herrenalb, along the Albtalweg into the trail. A small bridge at kilometer two takes you over the Alb river, and the first elevation gain awaits. From now on, the trail climbs almost relentlessly. Two varied ascents with steep single-trail sections pass by the Teufelskammern. The mountain then allows a brief recovery or pace phase before, at the Michelsrank Hut, you take a left into the third and final ascent up to TeufelsmĂŒhle. Upon reaching TeufelsmĂŒhle, after 8 km you will have already tackled most of the 800 meters of elevation gain. A short glance to the left rewards you with a breathtaking view over the Murgtal.
Unfortunately, there is no time to rest. Although the elevation gain is not much, with the dreaded ligament killer section and the following high moor, concentration must be kept high at all times. (In heavy rain, this passage can get quite muddy.) From kilometer 12 it is almost all downhill. Passing the Alb spring, the first downhill section begins, with lots of scree and loose rocks, before a 180-degree left turn at the HanenfalzhĂŒtte leads directly into the next single trail. Just stone a moment ago, the so-called Hoinerswegle through dense forest now exclusively offers roots and thus countless tripping hazards.
Once that is done, it becomes a bit "cozier." Following a forest road, after a left turn you reach the Wildcat path. At kilometer 15 comes the Alb crossing, where, depending on the water level, you might get your feet wet. The last few kilometers back to Bad Herrenalb are less technical, allowing you to push hard and give it your all.
