Challenging trail running route with varied surfaces. From an easy warm-up to demanding forest and hiking paths, up to a very steep trail to the summit which may require using your hands. Thus, it has everything and finishes with a beautiful view on one side over the Werdenfelser Land and on the other side to Herzogstand and Heimgarten.

Safety information
The path runs partly over rooty and stony trails. Therefore, twisting an ankle is easy. So be cautious overall and run according to your own ability.
Attention on the last ascent to the summit. Surefootedness and a head for heights are required here.
Tips and suggestions
All data and information about the route are based on my own impression. The difficulty varies for each person and may differ accordingly. The route duration is not adjusted. It is the time given by Outdooractive and varies depending on performance and fitness level.

Roadbook
You start from the hiking car park and follow the forest road into the woods. Keep steadily uphill towards Rötelstein / Heimgarten. After about 2.2 kilometers, turn left onto the hiking trail and follow it steeply upwards. The path spits you out again onto the forest road after some time, and from here it continues steeply uphill. At the junction to Rötelstein, follow the path/trail to the summit cross. Then return the same way down. However, we stay continuously on the forest road and do not turn onto the trail.
