The Rössleweg runs once "around the Kessel" of Stuttgart.
With its distance of about 54 km and 1200 meters of elevation gain, along with numerous exit options, it is an ideal training route for ultramarathon runners.
The route described here includes the absolute original course including the ascent to Birkenkopf (Scherbelino) and the Württemberg (Grabkapelle).

Roadbook
The Rössleweg can be walked in both directions and is marked for both directions. In principle, the route is also suitable for cyclists, only some stairs must be bypassed.
(For the RunMob, the round is run clockwise)
The signage is inconsistent, sometimes well marked every few meters, but at some important points signage is missing.
Public transport
The Rössleweg is well and directly accessible via many public transport lines in Stuttgart.

Equipment
Since the Rössleweg generally has no major difficulties, it can easily be completed in light footwear. In the winter months, I recommend trail shoes for runners.
On weekends during the summer months, there may be service at the Burgholzhofturm; otherwise, there is hardly any gastronomy directly on the route. Some fountains may provide opportunities to refill water. However, you should be prepared to complete the Rössleweg independently.
