Pian de Ra Spines
Easy route along the Boite river through woods and streams
The Pian de Ra Spines loop follows the Boite river along both its banks, offering splendid views of Cristallo and Pomagagnon, providing peace and tranquility through the relaxing sounds of nature and water. The route runs north of the Ampezzo Valley, in the Fiames area.
Starting from the center, head to take the "ex Railway" towards "Centro Sportivo Antonella De Rigo." The cycle path runs from north to south and is named so because until 1964 it was the route of the Dolomites Train, which departed from Calalzo, passed through Cortina, and then arrived in Dobbiaco. After passing the last houses, before the football field, take the dirt path no. 211 on the left which will take you across the road. Just after crossing, shortly before the bridge, take the path no. 10 on your right towards Pian de Loa.
Continue along the route which will take you past Hotel Fiames and into the woods: here opens a gentle and delicate avenue, wrapped in trees with the sound of the Boite keeping you company. The dirt road will accompany you for about 4 kilometers up to the small house of the Ampezzo Dolomites Nature Park, and after this, turn left to path no. 417 which, after crossing the Boite, with a sharp change of direction, will take you towards Pian de Ra Spines in the direction of Camping Olympia. Along the way, you can also admire wooden installations by artists who wanted to pay tribute to nature and Cortina d’Ampezzo. Additionally, there is a “Librascion”: it is a book-sharing tree, offering you a short break to experience in a different way.
Once you reach Camping Olympia, cross the bridge and cross the road again taking path no. 211 and return to the center always following the "ex Railway."
