Park Route
Inside the Dolomiti d'Ampezzo Natural Park and the Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park
Trail running route that stretches within the Dolomiti d'Ampezzo Natural Park, the Fanes Natural Park, and the Sennes and Braies Park; allowing the runner to experience every facet of the Dolomites.
Starting from the center of Cortina, head towards the station to take the "ex Ferrovia" cycle path towards Fiames. Once you reach the "Antonella De Rigo" sports center, continue along the railway, then pass in order a tunnel, a bridge, and another tunnel. On the left, take path no. 201 on a dirt road, passing under State Road no. 51, then descend to Sant’Uberto (just above Tornichè). From here, take the paved road towards Ra Stua until you reach the homonymous Malga. Once arrived at this small paradise full of grazing animals and flat meadows, continue straight on path no. 6 to reach the second stop: the Sennes Refuge.
Most of the route runs within the Dolomiti d'Ampezzo Natural Park, the Fanes Natural Park, and the Sennes and Braies Park. The stretch between the two refuges is quite steep but allows you to experience passing from pastures to lunar-like areas, through a dense forest and the incredible Dolomitic scenery. Once you arrive at the Refuge, take path no. 7 to Fodara Vedla: this will gently lead you to the third stop via an open route characterized by meadows and pastures. The Fodara Refuge offers a very scenic view of the valley below, especially at sunset. From here, take path no. 9 which will bring you back to Malga Ra Stua, passing a small lake and a downhill road.
Once you arrive at the malga, to return to Cortina d'Ampezzo, retrace the route taken on the way out.
