Discover an immersive route through the wild landscapes of the Jura, between deep forests, rocky ridges, and lakes with crystal-clear waters. Each section of the course invites you to a unique experience: rolling trails along the lake, technical ascents up to the Eagle Peak, aerial passages overlooking the Maclus cliffs.
The crossing of the cairn trail, the energy of the Hérisson waterfalls, and the panoramas of the Val highlight a demanding trail, where every runner will find their challenge. The finale? An exhilarating descent to the finish... and a well-deserved morbiflette!
- Start – Le Frasnois (0 km – 780 m altitude)
The course starts in the heart of the village of Le Frasnois, with a gradual start along Lake Narlay. This first section offers a warm-up on a rolling trail by the water before tackling the first difficulty.
- Ascent to Mont des Ifs (5 km – 1040 m altitude)
The route gradually rises through the forest, following a zigzagging path leading to the summit of Mont des Ifs. The ascent is demanding but steady, with a beautiful clear view over the valley at the top.
- Crossing of Bois des Bans (8 km – 980 m altitude)
An alternation of gentle slopes and short descents allows for rhythm changes. This undergrowth passage is pleasant, over a soft ground carpeted with fir needles.
- The Maclus Cliffs and Lakes (12 km – 1100 m altitude)
A balcony trail overlooks the Maclus lakes, offering an impressive panorama. The progression becomes more technical with rocky passages, roots, and tight turns requiring attention.
- Ascent of Eagle Peak (15 km – 1200 m altitude)
A steep and intense climb leads to the summit of Eagle Peak, where a panoramic view rewards the effort. The following descent is fast and technical before reaching the Chaux-du-Dombief aid station.
- The Cairn Trail (20 km – 1050 m altitude)
The atmosphere changes with a mineral terrain dotted with cairns. This undulating section tests endurance with irregular relief and rocky passages.
Lake Bonlieu and humid forest (25 km – 940 m altitude)
Return to a forest environment, cooler and humid. The trail crosses areas where caution is needed due to mud and slippery roots.
Crossing the Val and ascent to Ménétrux-en-Joux (30 km – 990 m altitude)
After the Bonlieu aid station, the course runs along the Val lake before tackling a winding ascent to Ménétrux-en-Joux. This section combines rhythm changes and technical passages.
- The Hérisson Waterfalls (35 km – 780 m altitude)
The trail winds along the Hérisson waterfalls, where the humidity of the place can make the rocks slippery. This iconic passage marks the approach to the end of the course.
- Final descent and finish (40 km – 780 m altitude)
A last descent, alternating rolling sections and tight turns, leads to the finish line. The course ends in a friendly atmosphere, in the heart of the village of Le Frasnois.
