    Author’s recommendation

Master the first ascent at the old Eisfeld heading towards "Drüüegg," the legs should then be warm enough to run/jog afterwards.

Since the descending part of the route passes by a flowing water (Löntsch), it could logically be rather cool there in spring/autumn.

    Tips and suggestions

    - In Riedern, there is a fountain at the village schoolhouse

    Roadbook

Start at the old Eisfeld (in Glarus) towards the city ski lift "Drüüegg". After the ascent, head towards Rest. Rütihof, or Rest. Zwätschgähof. However, before this, turn right and follow the path over the ski slope to the bridge, where you turn left back into the forest. In the forest, first run about 100 meters downhill, then turn left onto the hiking trail towards the civil protection facility "Brunnenstübli". After the "Brunnenstübli," pass the gravel path above the green waste disposal site towards Allmeind. Attention! Crossing the meadow above the hunter's shooting stand, watch out for shooting flags! Follow the trail down to the Löntsch river, follow it to Riedern. From Riedern, continue via Bergli into the field / Oberdorf. There, you run the last few meters on the "500 meters altitude path" and can see the starting point again.

Glärnisch - Walensee (hiking map 1:25,000)

    Equipment

Jogging or trail running shoes. Trail running shoes definitely more comfortable as paths are mostly gravel or forest.
