Hügeliuf... Töbeliab... (or: you have to run over 7 bridges... or almost)
Trail round in the Tönierwald and the adjacent ravines. Up and down...
Uznach is a stork village. A visit to the enclosure is worthwhile, as is watching the activity at the numerous nests around the Kreuzkirche.
Beautiful, often quiet round with wonderful views and challenging climbs. Many single trails, not very suitable for biking (too steep, carrying sections, riding bans).
Use at your own risk, especially during or after precipitation and frost it can be very slippery in places.
The Tönierwald is a wildlife protection area. There are really many deer, I have also seen chamois in winter. Please stay on the paths and keep any dogs on a leash.

Safety information
Occasionally sure-footedness and good balance are required. Being free from dizziness helps.Roadbook
Start at Linthpark (there is free parking if necessary). The starting point is near the Burgerfeld bus stop.
Westwards over the Aabach bridge and immediately after that follow the hiking sign into the Aabachtobel. It goes gently uphill to the large waterfall. In the second left bend of the ravine, the Uznach castle once stood on the rock spur on the left side. Appropriate information boards can be found in the ravine.
At the large waterfall do not cross the bridge, but turn right. For the first time the path becomes a trail, which is steep and somewhat exposed. At the top the trail follows the edge of the ravine, partly through undergrowth, occasionally there are blueberries to snack on. The pond, which sometimes glints through the branches on the right, is still used today for electricity generation (and for the fire brigade).
Back on a forest path, the route turns left and descends the Ranzachtobel. The bridge was built in 1908 and is one of the oldest reinforced concrete bridges in Switzerland and is protected. Renovated in 2015, it served as a crossing for workers who had to go to Uznach. Enjoy the view. Often a heron stands in the water here.
On the other side of the Hebeltobel bridge it goes steeply up again, well-maintained stairs have been installed here. At the top, go right. Again, the route briefly follows the edge of the ravine before going back down along beautiful limestone deposits. Another bridge and then the path goes up again, really steep... the ladder is easy to climb. Impressive how you can see that the entire slope is moving.
At the top you walk around a huge gravel pit (or whatever it once was) and dive into the last ravine. The following climb is less steep. The hiking trail now follows the forest edge on the right. What follows are some trails in the Tönierwald, before arriving back in the inhabited world.
