Hochmut 2 - Speedhiking

From the parking lot at the valley station of the cable car, follow the paved road briefly uphill to the first fork (bus stop, signposted "Apfelweg"). Turn left there and go slightly downhill to a group of houses, where a steep grassy path leads uphill on the right (signposted "Muthöfe", path no. 23B). Up to here 400 m on paved road. Where the steep grassy path joins a wider farm road, continue left (no sign – paved path) and again steeply uphill until you reach the paved access road to the Gasthof Farmer Kreuz. Now continue straight ahead following the signs to the Muthöfe (path no. 23B) and climb partly in long switchbacks up a path paved with large stones until you reach the access road to the Muthöfe. Turn left here (signs) and follow the road to the hairpin bend where the forest path to the Muthöfe continues (sign). From here to the first meadow is a steep ascent. You reach the Oberegghof farm, follow the road again briefly and then continue below the road (sign) to the Talbauer.
