From the start-finish sign of the Coburg Marathon, we initially run towards the course of the marathon route. After about 100 m, we turn immediately left and head back into the village. We follow the first street junction to the right and leave Lützelbuch via Herrenberg. In a zigzag, we cross through the fields. We cross the Munich – Berlin ICE line and can catch a glimpse of the tunnel through the Feuerfelsen.

Continuing, we move uphill towards Rohrbach. Shortly before the village sign, we jog to the right and run in a large arc along the forest edge to the connecting road between Seidmannsdorf and Grub am Forst, where we turn left towards Grub am Forst. At the large lime tree just before the village sign, we turn right towards the Steinrücken airfield. After about 200 m by a water reservoir, we then go uphill, first through the forest and later along the forest edge, continuing to Grüberstein. Shortly before the information board, the trail begins through Grüberstein to Buchberg.

We leave the former quarry, taking the trail going downhill to the left through the forest. In the forest, we tend to keep right. As we leave the forest, we orient left and shortly reach a nicely designed rest area with a beautiful view towards Creidlitz.

Through the forest, it continues to the sports field of SV Ketschendorf. Just before, a trail ascending to the right begins, which extends to the municipal connecting road Seidmannsdorf – Grub am Forst, where at the highest point of the trail we meet the Coburg C hiking trail, which we will follow from here to the entrance of Lützelbuch.

We continue along the Munich – Berlin ICE line, turn left at Kiengrund bridge, and shortly before the Seidmannsdorf fish farm take a right, then complete our loop back over Herrenberg into Lützelbuch and back to the Rolf-Forkel-Halle.
