The GR86 starts in the urban Alpine town of Chur. From there, the first challenge is Churwalden. Then it goes past the beautiful Heidsee and up to the Parpaner Rothorn and the Aroser Weisshorn, which is the highest point of the route and thus the greatest challenge.
The GR86 starts in the Alpine town of Chur and goes over the Dreibündenstein down to Churwalden and back up to Lenzerheide. From Lenzerheide, the route leads over the Parpaner Rothorn across to the Hörnli and up to the beautiful Aroser Weisshorn. Then it goes downhill to Arosa, past Bärenland to the Walser settlement Medergen, to Langwies in Schanfigg and up to Hochwang. From Pagig, it goes over the other side of the valley to Calfreisen, where it goes over Maladers back to Chur.
