High technical difficulty over the Gottesacker plateau, mixed with shorter sections of running-friendly terrain.
There are ferrata wires on both sides of Hohe Ifen, but they are there to ease the access, no equipment is needed.
Good weather is strongly recommended, both for route finding and for the lenght/difficulty of the tour. I've done the tour several times and always get a little lost out on the karst terrain. In sections the way is marked with paint on the rock. It's worth taking the time to check you're on route.

Safety information
The karst plateau is dangerous if lightly snow covered; one may not see the thousands of rock crevasses under the snow. Only with a definitely stable winter cover may it be safely crossed with skis - along the standard ski route.Public transport
Mahdtalhaus is the closest public transport starting point. The tour ends at or near Auenhütte, bus stop Ifen. The bus line 5 runs every 30 mins towards Riezlern. Switch to line 2 in Riezlern to get back to Mahdtalhaus if needed.Parking
It's allowed to park at Mahdtalhaus. Don't park at the private space further up by the main street. Continue left at the houses and left down the hill to Mahdtalhaus.Coordinates
