Weekend refreshment opportunity at Loderhartand a short detour to the Landshuter House
Roadbook
From the starting point, it goes southward first flat until after a few minutes you reach some houses; here, turn left past the last houses into the forest. After a few initial steeper ramps and some flat sections, you reach Engelburgsried. Here you cross the street and walk a few meters on the access road to Loderhart on the forest road and then immediately turn right at the edge of the forest onto the trail marked with number 6. Follow this trail until you meet the access road again, follow it to the right and then in the 180-degree left bend disappear right again onto the trail. Shortly you can already see the roof of the mountain lodge Loderhart.
Passing Loderhart on the right, take the steeper path straight ahead towards Dreitannenriegel, leaving the flatter path to Rohrmünz on the right.
At first, it starts off steep, then it gets a bit flatter. Before it levels off again, you come to a signpost to Kreuzfelsen. This short detour is not on the GPS track but is definitely worth it; it is only a few extra meters to a beautiful rock ledge with a summit cross and a nice view into the Graflinger Valley.
Back on the main path, continue straight at the next junction, first still uphill, then a short downhill to the forest road. Here turn slightly left and then immediately right again for the final ascent to Dreitannenriegel.
On Dreitannenriegel you have a great view over the Danube Plain and, in suitable weather, all the way to the Alps.
Then go back a little, but keep right toward Riegelsattel, cross it and continue briefly on the forest road to then turn left towards Breitenauriegel.
The ascent to the summit and enjoying the view is also worthwhile on Breitenauriegel.
From here you have done most of the elevation and it's only downhill from here.
First, we walk a bit towards the Landshuter House and then turn left at the height of the moor. At hiking trail no. 13, turn left, but after a few meters, we meet a new forest road again, which we follow to the right until the end. Here go down left towards Wühnried on trail no. 13 and Goldsteig.
In Wühnried, keep right for a few meters on asphalt through the village, then immediately turn left into the forest down to a stream, follow this for a while, then shortly walk left again on asphalt and immediately left again into the forest marked Goldsteig. From here, it's not far to the starting point
Public transport
The journey to the route is also possible by train to Gotteszell. From here, you can already comfortably warm up on a connecting path to the starting point of the route.Directions
