Cortina-Dobbiaco

Trail running route that winds along the old railway, between Cortina and Dobbiaco, through woods and lakes.

The itinerary offers breathtaking views of the Croda Rossa, the Three Peaks of Lavaredo, and the lakes of Dobbiaco and Landro. The route runs north of the Ampezzo Valley, in the Fiames area.

Starting from the center, take the “former railway” heading north, Fiames, and follow it entirely. The route is flat and gentle, allowing a delightful view of Cortina and some of its hamlets crossed by the cycle path. This runs from north to south and is called so because until 1964 it was the route of the Dolomites Train which started from Calalzo, passed through Cortina, and then reached Dobbiaco.  

Continue along the route and pass the “Antonella De Rigo” sports center, continue towards Dobbiaco. The path offers passages under tunnels, suspension bridges, and dedicated spots to admire the Dolomites peaks. The road is fairly flat, with some points where there are slight climbs. 

Along the route it is finally possible to admire both Lake Landro and Lake Dobbiaco.

The cycle path will take you to the Dobbiaco train station, where it will be possible to take transportation back to Cortina or continue further.
