First, it goes flat along the Flanitz, ideal for warming up. After about 1 km, the first slight inclines appear until you reach a forest road. Follow this for a short distance to Gfäll. There is also a parking lot here, which can be accessed at certain times; otherwise, this point is reached by the Hedgehog buses.
It continues over the parking lot first somewhat flat, then more rolling; the ground alternates between forest paths and rocky trails, and vice versa, until you reach Rachelsee. After Rachelsee, the ascent to Rachelkapelle follows, from where you have a magnificent view over Rachelsee. From Rachelkapelle to the summit, it is partly quite rocky and no longer so easy to run smoothly. From the summit, you have a wonderful view in all directions; here you also reach the highest point of the route. From now on, it only goes downhill.
After a few minutes, you come to the Waldschmidthaus, where a cozy stop is offered. From Waldschmidthaus, you first go downhill on a gravel road for a short distance until the trail branches off to the right, which leads us back down to the starting point of the route.
