The scenic high route from Steckborn via Oberfruthwilen to Ermatingen combines the finest natural enjoyment with fabulous fairy tale fun over an easy eleven kilometers.
18 stations transport you between Steckborn and Ermatingen, both charming fishing villages on the southern shore of Lake Constance, into the world of fables. The eleven-kilometer thematic route, especially well suited for children and families, can be comfortably hiked in three hours and offers spectacular views of the Lake Constance region. Always present: Master Bear, Master Hare, and many other feathered or furry fable animals introduced through their stories.
In addition to the tales of famous writers, there are plenty of matching quiz questions and suggestions for games. Group tasks such as inventing excuses or piggyback rides strengthen team cohesion. Halfway, there are two barbecue and picnic areas inviting you to linger.
The themed hiking route is suitable for families, school classes, small hiking groups, and individual hikers. After passing through Oberfruthwilen, the Fable Path is not pram-friendly for about one kilometer.

Hiking trail with yellow markings and green route sign «Fabelweg». Often runs on wide paths but can also be narrow and uneven. Steep sections are overcome with steps. Apart from usual attention and caution, hiking trails do not pose any special requirements.
