The name Livek, locally Liwk, in Italian Luico, in Palaeolatin Livischia, denotes a place shaped like a funnel (livek). In ancient times, large rivers carved here and glaciers ploughed.
The Livška Štorija is a path where you experience stories about:
- pristine nature and its formation (lush forests, old trees, herbs, grasses and meadows, domestic individual animals, traces of glaciers and ancient rivers),
- five hundred years of wars and peace (border stones in Golobi and on Kolovrat, remains of the Soča front in Jevščeček and on Kolovrat) and the coexistence of Livek's people with Venetian Slovenes,
- the encampment of Erwin Rommel at the Brgolič homestead,
- ancient holy temples (St. Peter in Perati, St. Jacob in Livek),
- ethnology (Gentle House, water catchments, žbrinčlja, hayloft, poštoklja),
- myths and legends (Livek lake, krivopete),
- village culture, sport and a hundred years of skiing in Livek,
- people who carry the names of trees and animals in their surnames.
