Stork-Dragonfly Trail

We leave the parking lot at the community center and leave the village via Schulstraße. After a few meters we reach the first meadows. To our right we see the barbecue hut by the path. After about 100 m we turn left to continue uphill between the meadows above Mauschbach. At the end of the meadow we follow the paved farm road for about 150 m until we reach a left turn. Here we leave the paved path and walk between fields until we reach the seating area on the hill. From here we have a beautiful view of the monastery town of Hornbach. From the seating area we go right until we reach another paved farm road. We follow this to the right to the next turn, where we turn left. We follow this path until we reach the end of the second forest.

If we go left here, we reach the pine forest located on the hill after a few meters, where the Monbijou nature reserve with its orchid flora begins.

However, at the end of the second forest we turn directly right and continue along the edge of the forest on the Stork-Dragonfly Trail. Fields and richly blooming meadows can be seen on both sides. When we reach the crossing in the middle of the farmland, we turn left. In the distance in front of us we see the Monbijou estate. Following the field path, we turn right after about 100 m to go downhill to the Bruch. Many rare bird species live here. It is worth taking a break on a specially built platform and observing life in the Bruch. In addition to a rich bird world, rare dragonfly species also live here. We reach Mauschbach via the paved path, walk to the main street, follow it to the right until we reach our starting point.
