A 5.5 km long hiking route leads you on well-maintained paths along the Mahlspürer Aach and a small spring brook to the Peace Spring and back to the Eisweiher. Many learning stations along the way invite you to get to know and understand nature and especially the brooks and waters including their inhabitants better. To avoid getting lost, blue Q signs point the way in the right direction. Relaxation, deceleration, and recovery are promised by the shady forest and the beautifully designed Peace Grotto.

The hiking route begins at the outdoor pool Osterholz at the blue starting board. In front of the outdoor pool, go up the small stairs on the left and also follow the signed hiking route in the forest to the left. The path leads straight ahead, past the turnoff to the circular hiking route to the Hans-Kuony Spring. After several hundred meters, turn left onto a small footpath. Upon reaching the forest edge, follow the larger hiking path to the right. There you will find the Bachaue station at the Mahlspürer Aach. Here you will learn where the water of the Aach comes from, where it flows to, and why so many brooks are called Aach. Following the path, you will reach the station Animals in the Brook slightly off the path. If you turn over a few stones in the brook bed, you can easily discover some animals in the spring brook. Following the hiking path uphill is the Tobel station. Here you can see how the spring brook has shaped the rocky subsoil over many millennia. If you keep left, you will find the Forest Pond station along the way, where you can observe dragonflies, for example, in summer. At the next junction, keep right. Straight ahead is a detour to the orchard educational path. The next station awaits you on the right side at the forest edge: here you can discover on a tree slice how a tree transports water from the root to the crown. After following the main path, keep left and then turn left again. Then go right again into the forest. Shortly afterwards, turn left onto a smaller forest path. Here you will find the Moss station, where you can learn interesting facts about water-storing plants. Follow the path to the forest edge. There turn right, pass a small bench, and turn right again into the forest. Now it goes slightly downhill then keep left. Next, follow the signpost to the Peace Grotto along the terrain on the small footpath. Here you will find the Peace Spring gushing from the tuff stone. The path leads downhill to the Eisweiher. From here you can already see the start and end point - the parking lot at the outdoor pool Osterholz.
