The Sculpture Path is an idyllic, newly created walking path along the Bocksbach in Pfinztal-Kleinsteinbach. It runs along the district border between Karlsruhe and Pforzheim and complements the already existing thematic network of paths in Pfinztal. With an unusual concept, the municipality easily combines art and nature, exhibitors and walkers. For twelve months, 27 exhibits by freelance artists will be on display along this walking path.
The initiative of the municipality of Pfinztal operates on a small budget, as it offers itself as a "gallery owner" instead of buying the objects. It guarantees easy access to the selected artists through the establishment of a "hotline" and a comprehensive description of all objects on panels specially created for this purpose. In return, the artists provide their exhibits.
Thanks to the generous support of the Cultural Foundation of Sparkasse Karlsruhe, the municipality has a budget available that also allows it to pay the artists a rental fee for the sculptures. Considering that the participating freelance artists almost exclusively earn their living from their art, the amount takes on an almost symbolic character. Therefore, the municipality once again warmly thanks all participating artists at this point and points out again that almost all artworks can be purchased.
