The fields in Wangen an der Aare are often filled with fragrant plants used for scent production. However, the Scent Trail does not only want to show the plants but also encourages walkers to smell real scents derived from various plants. From the "Wangen an der Aare" station, you first go to the company "Air Creative," which specializes in refining scents. Here, you get all the necessary information about the Scent Trail and also the so-called scent strips which you then need along the way to smell the scents. Because on this trail, you experience the world with your nose! Air Creative is also responsible for implementing and maintaining the Scent Trail. Here you can also smell scents that are not found on the Scent Trail. The Scent Trail is a beautiful excursion in the Aare landscape between Solothurn and Olten. The short hike also allows plenty of time to stroll through Wangen an der Aare and visit the historic old town center.
