The starting point of this hike is Schutzhaus Neubau (2,176 m). The circular route first passes the "Radhaus" and then goes over the Ochsenkar to the glacier gate. Afterwards it passes the miners' houses back to Schutzhaus Neubau.

Accommodation available at Schutzhaus Neubau. Descent possible via trail No. 119 to Ammererhof or via the Barbara Waterfall to the Nature Friends' House. Visit the National Park exhibition "Zimmererhütte" next to the Nature Friends' House (open June to October).
