Challenging hike through a wild romantic mountain landscape
The hike leads from the upper station of the chairlift over the Gamsstallscharte (M 18) and through the upper Valsorda basin to the Latemar Hut (Rifugio Torre di Pisa), 2671 m. From the Gamsstallscharte follow the M 516 to the hut. From there, descent via the Zischgalm and the Ganischgeralm. Return route via the Maierlalm to the starting point. There are several variants for the return path that can shorten the route slightly: descent via the ascent path or from the hut first continue on path no. 516 (towards Zischgalm) and then descend on path no. 22. This ascent is actually not a themed trail in the usual sense, as there is only an information board at the upper station of the chairlift describing the legend of the Latemar puppets. However, the path leads through a wild romantic mountain landscape, where the Dolomite legends originated. Shortly before the Gamsstallscharte, a large collection of rock towers of all sizes and shapes recalls the Latemar puppets.
