Visiting the busy bees at Johannishögl in Piding
Humans and honeybees have lived closely connected for millennia, but in recent years, not only beekeepers have grown concerned as bees are dying. Around 80% of native cultivated and wild plants depend on honeybees and wild bees for pollination. Therefore, the honeybee is one of our most important farm animals. Visit the Piding Bee Path, where around half a million busy “workers” will show you live how to pollinate blossoms and collect nectar. The Bee Path invites you on a discovery journey into the world of honeybees and wild bees. Let yourself be guided and explore the habitat and lifestyle of these wonderful insects.

Roadbook
From the Berggasthof Johannishögl, follow the hiking trail that leads from the back of the inn over to the Neubichler Alm (signposts). First, descend a few meters into a small hollow to a field crossroads. Here continue straight on the path and reach the bee house. Here you can observe the bees at their daily work. The path then ascends again along a forest road. After about 10 minutes, a small forest trail branches off to the right (signpost Neubichler Alm). Follow this until the forest opens up again and you reach the Neubichler Alm. Descent as ascent.
