The Hauenstein ruins and the Hauenstein forest, 15 stations about the time of Oswald von Wolkenstein
From the parking lot continue to the Salegg hotel. The circular route begins there (overview board). Always follow the signs first to the Salegg ruins and from there almost flat through the Hauenstein forest to the Hauenstein ruins. From there, the circular route continues towards Bad Ratzes (a detour to the local playground is definitely worth it!). From Bad Ratzes, take the same path back towards the Hauenstein ruins. Shortly before, the circular route branches off to the right and leads down towards Seis. At the next fork keep left and return almost flat to the starting point. The entire path is very well signposted. The Oswald von Wolkenstein path, located at the foot of the Schlern and in the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park, points the hiker to the main tasks of a nature park: protection of the cultural landscape, awareness for environmental, nature and historical concerns, and creation of recreational opportunities in the park.
