Welcome to the Multigeneration Path! Our multigeneration path – a place where movement, encounters, and nature come together!
This path was specially designed to inspire young and old to be active and create shared experiences. Discover various exercise stations along the route that are fun and boost your fitness – whether you want to run, balance, stretch, or just relax and enjoy the fresh air.
For all generations, at every fitness level:
• Children and teenagers can train their dexterity
• Adults find opportunities to improve their endurance and strength
• Seniors can try gentle movements for mobility and well-being

- Fire & Smoking - Lighting fires, smoking and grilling are strictly prohibited in the forest and must be avoided! Fires and thus major damage to nature and wildlife can be prevented only this way.
- Be considerate on the path - Always behave foresighted, friendly and considerate to everyone you meet on the way.
- Nature conservation - Stay on designated paths and avoid unnecessary noise when you are in nature. Leave the forest at dusk at the latest to not disturb the rhythm of nocturnal animals.
- Picnic & trash - Bring a trash bag for the way and take your waste back home. Use only the furnished rest areas for breaks and picnics.
- Keep dogs on a leash - Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals thank you.

- Consider weather conditions: It can be slippery in some places when wet, snowy, or icy – please exercise increased caution.
- Be considerate: The path is used by people of all ages – please be considerate of others and share the space respectfully.
- Not a playground: The devices serve physical fitness, not as play equipment.

Roadbook
The Multigeneration Path Esthal is a roughly 1.5 km long, flat circular path in the forest designed especially for people of all ages. It invites you to be active outdoors, strengthen your body, and relax your mind. Along the path, you will find four varied stations with simple but effective exercises to promote fitness, balance, mobility, and inner calm.
The starting point is at the end of Klosterstraße in Esthal, close to the forest festival hall. From there, follow the well-maintained forest path, where at short intervals the following stations await you:
🏋️ Station 1: Challenge Spot
Get moving here – ideal for warming up and strengthening:
- Wall sits
- Triceps dips
- Pull-ups with overhand grip
- Hanging knee raises
- Push-ups
- Squats
A spot for everyone who wants to feel their muscles!
🤸 Station 2: Hop & Balance Spot
Balance and coordination are the focus here:
- Balancing for beginners
- Balancing for advanced
- Squat jumps on the lying tree trunk
- Large steps over the tree trunk
Here you can playfully train your balance – fun for young and old!
🧘 Station 3: Pedal-Stretch Spot
Now it’s time to stretch and mobilize:
- Sitting on the bench – knees to chest
- Chair cat-cow stretch
- Chair pigeon stretch
- Sitting forward bend
- From sitting to standing
Perfect to loosen back, shoulders, and hips.
🌿 Station 4: Relax Spot
At the end, find peace and mindfulness in the midst of the forest:
- Feeling your breath
- Bhramari (bee humming)
- 4-7-11 breathing exercise
- Meditation
A peaceful place to breathe consciously and relax.
The path is flat and well-maintained throughout, making it also suitable for older people or families with strollers. The stations are equipped with sturdy stainless steel devices as well as nature-like fitness elements and invite you to move at your own pace and individually.

Public transport
Public-transport-friendly
Take the public transport, bus line 517 to the stop - Esthal town entrance/exit. From there, continue on foot (approx. 1.3 km walk). Follow the main road towards the town center, after about 120 meters turn left into Klosterstraße. Follow Klosterstraße to Station 1 of the multigeneration path.

From Neustadt an der Weinstraße (A65): Exit Neustadt/Weinstr. Nord, then follow B39 to Lambrecht (Pfalz). After Lambrecht (Pfalz), turn left into Elmsteiner Valley (Frankeneck). Follow L499 to the district Sattelmühle, turn right there and follow K38 to Esthal. Stay on the main road to the Klosterstraße junction, Kloster St. Maria. Follow Klosterstraße to the end of the paved road, pass the monastery on the left, and follow the paved road to the forest festival hall.
From Kaiserslautern (A6): Exit Enkenbach-Alsenborn, then head towards Fischbach/Bad Dürkheim. Follow B48 to the junction to Bad Dürkheim. Then continue on B37 towards Bad Dürkheim / Neustadt a. d. Weinstr., in Frankenstein follow B39 until shortly before Lambrecht (Pfalz). At Frankeneck turn right into Elmsteiner Valley. Follow L499 to the district Sattelmühle, turn right there, and follow K38 to Esthal. Stay on the main road to the Klosterstraße junction, Kloster St. Maria. Follow Klosterstraße to the end of the paved road, pass the monastery on the left, and follow the paved road to the forest festival hall.

Parking is available in front of the forest festival hall in Esthal. It is located at the end of Klosterstraße.
