Züschen / The Muffel-Trail is a family hiking trail of about 4.5 km.
Explore the world of native mouflons over about 4.5 km. On partly natural paths, you experience the forest in its many facets; pure nature is free of charge.
Author’s recommendation
Use the silence on natural paths, avoid conversations, as this allows you to hear and imagine a variety of animal sounds.
Those who want to experience more and still have enough energy can climb the Ziegenhelle up to 818 m above sea level (please observe the local hiking trail signs). From the observation tower there, you have a fantastic panoramic view over the Sauerland.
A stop at the Hombergjause is highly recommended and after a hike, it tastes twice as good in a rustic hut atmosphere.

Roadbook
You start at the parking lot in the "Mein Homberg" ski area in Züschen. Right at the beginning, you climb the first elevation meters parallel to the toboggan run and enjoy the view from the mountain station down into the valley to the climatic spa Züschen, as well as to the challenging Ziegenhellen ski slope (750 m) on the other side. Then you continue on natural paths past various types of forests and trees to enjoy the nature. At 4-5 stations, you learn and experience a lot of interesting facts about mouflon, explained both professionally and in a child-friendly way. Now you head to the Radenstein, which is 743 m high. Here you hike for about 45 minutes directly along the border to the Hallenberg urban area. Passing old charcoal pits, you circle the Radenstein, keeping left through the magnificent beech forest back towards the ski area. Here you reach the destination descending through spruce and beech stands to the Hombergjause between the main ski lift and the toboggan run. You have now earned a stop at the restaurant, which bears the mouflon as its logo.
