33km | 3 countries | no borders
Welcome to the M³-Trail in the borderless tri-border area. Discover the German-French-Luxembourg border region with its very special charm and its eventful history over 33 kilometers.
Moselle: Scenic circular hiking trail
Harsh war years, countless border shifts, power struggles, negotiations, and agreements have shaped the border area and its people over centuries. A closer look still reveals the scars of this time in the natural landscape with protective trenches, overgrown tank traps, bomb craters, and hidden bunkers.
Thanks to the Schengen Agreement, the region today has grown into a borderless, shared living and cultural space. The M³-Trail offers the opportunity to get to know this shared living and cultural space, its people, and its history. Particularly exciting stops are the European Museum in Schengen, the Château des Ducs de Lorraine in Sierck les Bains, and the German-French Peace Chapel near Perl.

Equipment
Hiking clothes and hiking shoes are a given! We strongly recommend taking spare clothing for all weather conditions, a mobile phone, and a GPS device with the current track. Of course, as with any longer hike, insect/tick spray and a tick remover (or similar) are useful.Localization
