The themed route from Morteratsch Train Station to the Morteratsch Glacier forefield shows the glacier retreat at several stops.
The themed route leads from Morteratsch Train Station in just under an hour to the forefield of the Morteratsch Glacier. Along the stroller-accessible path, several stops provide information about the glacier's retreat and life in the glacier forefield. Texts on information panels tell entertaining stories about weather, climate, and glaciology as well as the tourism and cultural history of Pontresina. On the return journey, you can also go via the Chünetta viewpoint. Families with children can hike with the glacier spirit “Sabi”. The children's book "Sabi's big dream" is an adventure route for children between 5 and 12 years old. Children receive a mini-book telling a story and containing tasks to be solved along the glacier path. At the end of the route, the booklet with the solutions can be shown at the Tourist Information, and the children receive a surprise.
