Monastery Path (also for kids)
Set off on a journey through 1000 years of monastery history on the Monastery Path, which connects Bad Herrenalb and Frauenalb.
Over a distance of 5 km, the Monastery Path leads from Bad Herrenalb Monastery to Frauenalb Monastery. At various stations along the way, you learn a lot of fascinating facts about former monastery life and thus embark on a journey through 1000 years of monastery history.

Monastery Path:
Starting point at Bad Herrenalb Monastery, from here follow the signs through the spa park, pass the thermal baths on the right onto Graf-Rhena Way to Frauenalb.
The path along the Alb is easy to hike on foot – the return journey is conveniently possible with the Albtalbahn.
Special feature: The historic border between Württemberg and Baden has been newly marked with a "toll house". Visitors can expect an acoustic surprise there.
Please note that currently one station of the Monastery Path directly in front of the thermal baths is closed. However, you can still walk the entire route.
Monastery Path for Kids:
Exciting scavenger hunt with historical detective work
Interactive stations, where history and tradition are playfully conveyed, make the new "Monastery Path for Kids" from Bad Herrenalb to Frauenalb an exciting outing destination for families with children and school classes.
Prefer Team Monk or Team Nun? After this decision, you set off. Equipped with one of four different puzzle sheets and optionally with or without a GPS device, you embark on a medieval time journey and can solve various tasks and puzzles at numerous stations along the route. While some tasks require physical effort, others must be solved by thinking. The latter are quite tricky and aimed at children and teenagers aged ten to fourteen, while the climbing actions required at some stations are also fun for younger children.
Monastery diploma: Those who solve all tasks correctly can look forward to the coveted monastery diploma at the end. Simply enter the solution word and name at www.klosterdiplom.de and download the personalized certificate as a PDF.
The start of the scavenger hunt is the Bad Herrenalb Monastery, the destination is the Monastery in Frauenalb. Over a length of about five kilometers, you pass historic sites, follow the picturesque Alb stream, and find refreshment in shady forests. Due to the gentle terrain, the Monastery Path for Kids is also easily manageable for inexperienced hikers. The route is also barrier-free, so that strollers can be taken along. Return either on foot or comfortably with the Albtalbahn. This makes the Monastery Path for Kids perfect for spending an entertaining day outdoors with the family. Hiking is fun this way!
