Moisiovaara cultural trail, Hyrynsalmi
Moisiovaara is one of the oldest village hills in Kainuu, with settlements on four hills: Kaartilanvaara, Toivola-Nurmela hill, Heikkilänvaara, and Romppaala hill. From the tops of the hills, impressive views open far into the surroundings. However, the end of cultivation has changed the traditional landscape and closed some of the views.
The Moisiovaara cultural trail tells villagers' stories of living on the hills. The trail is an excellent hiking destination for the whole family. The trail can be taken as a shorter circular route or a longer route via the Alanne bend, making the total distance about 4 km.
