Mining trail - small route

For more than 5 centuries, mining activity in Seiffen was the main livelihood. It has left its traces in the townscape to this day and lives on in the awareness of the residents. To preserve this knowledge for future generations, over 30 years ago, in 1986, the mining research group founded by some local friends in 1984 established a circular route in the town center called "Historical Mining Trail." The route starts at the entrance to the pit (commonly called Binge) "Geyerin" above the Seiffen mountain church. An orientation board installed here explains the course of the "Small Round" of the mining trail through what was once the mining center of Seiffen with its 28 stations, each with signs in the shape of a German doorstop providing detailed descriptions of the respective locations.
