Selected alternatives for you

The Jupiter Trail is a circular route of about seven kilometers between Mosbach and Elztal-Neckarburken. Along the way, geological, historical, and scenic highlights alternate.

The short trail meets the "Komforttour" quality criteria of the German Hiking Association.

These paths are generally safe and free of obstacles to walk on and have a good, even surface. Pushing a stroller is only partially possible and at your own risk.

    Safety information

The path partly leads on natural paths, so appropriate footwear is absolutely necessary.

    Roadbook

The tour starts in Mosbach's old town and leads through the former state garden show grounds in Mosbach. After a short passage through the residential area, you reach the Mosbach city forest. The Leugenstein (an authentic stone cast) and the Jupiter Bench are two of the attractive sights on the route. The Jupiter Trail ends at the school center in Elztal-Neckarburken. From there it is just a stone's throw to the excavation site of the Roman fort or the museum which should definitely be visited.

From Neckarburken, another Roman trail can be hiked: the Minerva Trail to Dallau. It starts at the train station.

Jupiter was the godfather in Roman religion and is depicted with a bundle of lightning in his hand, an oak wreath, or on a throne. The eagle that accompanies him is considered a sign of power. In Neckarburken, near the train station, the Minerva Trail (7.1 km) begins, which leads from Neckarburken to Dallau.

    Christiane Bachert
