Hubertuslust

The scenic circular route starts at the Maasberg hiking car park. The start of the route is somewhat strenuous; we ascend via the switchbacks to the ridge of the Maasberg nature reserve. However, the climb is worth it, the view is very beautiful. On the first elevation, the path leads north through an oak avenue. The tree avenue and the adjacent oak stands, which were formerly used for cork bark harvesting, are very impressive. The path is also very entertaining for children. Interactive information boards of the forest educational trail line the path. The forest educational trail along the route offers interesting information for nature enthusiasts, e.g., how to recognize a lightning strike on a tree? Half of the circular route is reached after about 2.0 km at the "Hubertuslust" rest area. The rest area invites you to linger. The return path leads downhill along the foot of the terrain back to the hiking car park.
